Where is the office located?
Rising Tide Therapy is 100% virtual. All sessions are held over Zoom.
What are your office hours?
Office hours are from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.
How long is a typical session?
Most sessions start weekly and last 45 minutes but can last up to one hour.
What do I do to get started?
To get started, reach out to schedule a free 15-minute intake session. You’ll need to provide your full name, ID (front and back), and insurance card for verification before the call.
What is the hourly fee?
The intake session fee is $400. A weekly 45-minute session is $325.
How do I pay?
You can pay by credit card.
Do you accept insurance?
I am out-of-network with insurance, but I can submit claims on your behalf for possible reimbursement.
Can you help me file my insurance?
Yes, assistance with insurance filing is included in the session fee.
How do I make an appointment?

Appointments can be scheduled through our website or by sending an email to jason@risingtidetherapy.org.

What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Failure to do so will result in a charge for the full session rate plus a $25 fee.
What is a free initial phone consultation?
A free initial phone consultation fully explains insurance benefits and an individualized treatment plan if you decide to proceed with therapy.
Who is your perfect client?
My perfect client is motivated and ready for change. They come to sessions prepared to address the root of their problems and actively take steps to improve their situation.
With what age range do you work?

I work with clients aged 12 to 65.

Do you work with men? Women? Couples? Adolescents?
I work with men, women, transgender individuals, non-binary individuals, couples, and adolescents over the age of 12.
Are you LGBTQIA-friendly?

Yes, I am LGBTQIA-friendly.

Do you work with people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions?

What is therapy like with you?

Therapy with me is interactive, direct, and intentional. We won’t leave you spinning in your thoughts. Our focus is on finding solutions to your challenges.

How long will I be in therapy?
The duration of therapy depends on you. Your commitment and effort play a significant role. Clients who take therapy seriously can see results in months. Less effort may require more time.
Does anyone cry in front of you?
Yes, emotions are a natural part of the therapeutic process, and crying is encouraged to facilitate connection.
Do I have to tell you everything?
No, you don’t have to tell me everything, but our goal is to foster a relationship where you feel comfortable sharing whatever you choose.

What is EMDR and exposure therapy?

What is the benefit of doing therapy?

Do you offer video or phone sessions?

Yes, I offer video sessions and recommend these before transitioning to phone sessions.

What else can I try to help me help myself?
Self-practice is key. Great therapy should stay with you after sessions end. Be curious and compassionate; personal exploration is crucial.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
You’ll know I’m the right therapist if you can comfortably and confidently discuss anything without fear of judgment or criticism.
What is coaching?
Coaching focuses solely on your goals and provides the means to achieve them – unlike talk therapy, which delves into the “why” and coping with feelings.
Are you a Christian counselor?
No, I am agnostic. But I respect all religious beliefs.
Is our work confidential?
Yes, our work is confidential. I am a mandated reporter, which means I can only discuss session details if you post harm to yourself or others.
What do couples do in therapy?

In the first session and afterward, the goal is to learn productive ways to navigate conflicts.

I never take sides in couples therapy. The focus is finding resolutions that work for the “we,” not the “me.”

I have been in practice for six years and have studied psychology for 17 years.
