Therapeutic Approaches
There are many approaches to therapy; here are some we can work through.
A Tailored Approach to Whatever You’re Struggling With
Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution; there are many approaches and everyone responds to these differently.
Depending on what you are struggling with and what we think you’ll respond best to, we’ll create a tailored approach to help you. And we’ll always keep a close eye on how you are responding in case we need to change tack.

EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of psychotherapy that helps individuals process a traumatic memory. During the session, you will focus on a specific traumatic memory whilst completing bilateral stimulation (often through eye movements or tapping). This aims to reduce the emotional intensity of the situation, helping you overcome it.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of talk therapy that can help you manage mental and emotional health issues by changing your behavior or thinking patterns. Through CBT, our therapists will help you spot and challenge unhelpful thoughts, offering alternative coping strategies instead.

Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy can help you understand and change your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Through this talk therapy, we explore how your subconscious thoughts, feelings, and past experiences affect your current behavior.

LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy
LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy is a unique and specialized approach that creates a safe space for you to explore your identity and experiences. Through this therapy, we acknowledge and address the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and give them tools to help overcome these.
Solution-oriented Therapy
Solution-oriented therapy (SFT) is a goal-directed, collaborative approach that focuses on solutions rather than problems. With this therapy, we put emphasis on your strengths and abilities, helping you achieve positive change instead of dwelling on the past. This is a forward-thinking approach.

Gottman Method for Couples Therapy
The Gottman Method for couples therapy is a structured, research-based approach. It aims to strengthen your relationship by focusing on several key pillars. Those pillars are communication, conflict resolution, and building intimacy, respect, and affection. The main aim is to create a ‘Sound Relationship House’.
DBT Skills
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills are a set of techniques that can help improve emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills can help you deal with difficult situations, manage your relationships and emotions, and become more aware of your thoughts.
Exposure Therapy for PTSD
Exposure therapy for PTSD is a well-established approach that helps individuals gradually confront their trauma-related memories, feelings and situations. If you suffer from PTSD, the natural response is to try and avoid memories, situations, or feelings that relate to your trauma. Exposure therapy encourages you to do the opposite.

Exposure Therapy for OCD
Exposure therapy is a highly effective treatment for OCD. It involves gradually exposing individuals to the things that trigger their feared thoughts and feelings and, at the same time, preventing them from engaging in their usual compulsive behaviors.
